"Seminars & Events" Ecosystem – Bridging Jobs with Upskilling
Hi All, Following up on ideas to expand the capabilities of Jboard, I want to share another massive opportunity I see for the platform, inspired by current global trends. The Opportunity: The Upskilling Boom The global market for professional seminars, workshops, and upskilling is exploding. Job seekers aren't just looking for jobs anymore; they are actively looking for training to land those jobs. Currently, Jboard customers have to let their audience leave their sites to find these educational opportunities. I propose developing a dedicated "Seminars & Events" Module. How It Works (The Concept) This would be a separate directory within the job board entirely dedicated to professional education and networking. It wouldn't just be a list of events, but a full ecosystem featuring: Seminars & Workshops: Detailed postings for upcoming educational events. Organizers & Instructors: Dedicated profile pages for the people and companies hosting the training. Venues: Listings for spaces that host corporate events and seminars. The Value Proposition for Jboard Customers Building this feature would transform Jboard from a standard job board into a comprehensive career hub. It unlocks multiple new revenue streams for board owners: Paid Event Listings: Charging organizers a fee to post their upcoming seminars. Premium Real Estate: Upselling to "Featured Seminars" or "Top Instructors" on the homepage. Venue Advertising: Allowing seminar spaces to pay for visibility among event organizers browsing the board. Core Functionalities Needed: Dedicated Events Board: A visually distinct section (e.g., domain.com/seminars ) with calendar/date UI elements. Advanced Filtering: Allow users to filter by Date, Location (In-person vs. Online), Topic/Industry, and Price. Ecosystem Profiles: Customizable listing types so board admins can create specific categories for Instructors, Training Companies, and Venues. External Ticketing Link: A prominent CTA button on the seminar page that drives users to the organizer's ticketing platform (Eventbrite, etc.). Introducing an Events/Seminars directory would make Jboard the ultimate, all-in-one platform for professional growth, making it incredibly sticky for end-users and highly profitable for your customers.
"Freelancer Directory" Module – A new revenue stream for Jboard customers
Hi all, I am the founder of alpha.jobs and a proud user of Jboard.io . We are really happy with the software so far, but I want to propose a new feature that I believe would bring massive value not just to our board, but to all Jboard customers. The Opportunity: Capturing the Gig Economy Currently, Jboard is perfectly optimized for the traditional "Employer posts a job -> Candidate applies" model. However, the freelance market is booming. There is a huge missed opportunity in not having a space for independent professionals. I propose adding a "Freelancer / Service Provider Directory" module. How It Works (The Concept) Instead of only employers posting open roles, freelancers should be able to actively post their services (similar to a specialized, niche version of Fiverr or Upwork within our job boards). Employers visiting the board could browse this directory to hire independent contractors for project-based work. Why this is a game-changer for Jboard (Value Proposition) This feature transforms Jboard from a standard job board SaaS into a comprehensive talent marketplace. The biggest advantage is the new monetization engine it creates for board owners. If you build this, board owners will be able to: Charge freelancers a one-time fee or a monthly subscription to list their services. Offer upsells, such as charging extra for "Featured" or "Boosted" freelancer profiles to appear at the top of the directory. When your customers make more money and have diverse revenue streams, the Jboard platform becomes even more indispensable. Core Functionalities Needed: Dedicated Directory Page: A separate section on the board (e.g., domain.com/freelancers ) distinct from the standard job listings. Freelancer Profile Builder: Specific fields for independent workers (e.g., Hourly Rate, Project Minimums, Portfolio Links, Core Skills, and a "Contact/Hire Me" button). Checkout / Monetization Integration: Using the existing Stripe integration to let board owners set prices for profile submissions or upgrades. Search & Filters: Allowing employers to filter freelancers by category, skills, or budget. Adding a "Reverse Job Board" / Freelancer module would give Jboard a massive competitive advantage over other standard job board software.
